I think I graduated from the most perpetually incompetent football school in the country. My only concerns are if the local bars have raised prices and if the annual FCS team will beat us by fewer than three touchdowns.
I figured this past weekend was a tossup on taking another loss. Could’ve gone either way as it was the bye week.
Denton does really have great bars though. That’s always a highlight.
To the extent it can fend off generic suburbification, Denton is a damn gem, a classic college town right there in the DFW metroplex. I wish UNT could put things together and make a little noise. I’d love for Gary Patterson to get one last rodeo somewhere, and if he’s not getting the feelers he’d want from P5 schools, Denton could be perfect for his old-school “track 'em down and coach 'em up” recruiting philosophy.
I feel bad for UNT. Not only have they been having to compete for recruiting against Big 12 schools, now with UTSA and Texas State raising their level of play it’s only going to get more difficult for them.
