I know more than a few people will be reluctant to go in on another Star Trek show after Discovery. But even my wife (who is kind of into scifi but isnt a startrek fan) has gotten into Strange New Worlds. You dont have to be a Star Trek fan. So far theres only been one episode my wife had to ask “What was all that about”. Its a real “adventure of the week” kind of show, which is refreshing in this “every show must have an overarching seasonal plot” world we live in. We’re having a lot of fun with it!

I love Star Trek. But I can’t see signing up to yet another streaming service. I already have three (four if you count YouTube premium).

I drop one. Add another service for a month. Binge the show I want then drop it. I gave up on trying to have everything.

None of the services add enough content to justify a continuous 12 month subscription apart from Youtube. If you have prime video then paramount is half price for a month or two I think . And then there is always the option of physical media, online purchases or sailing the high seas.

The industry is greedy and streaming services are getting worse and destroying their value but until they force people into contracts there are options.

I did that (dropped Netflix for Stan) for a year when the kids were younger and I controlled what they watched. I would probably hop between the services month by month if it were just me. But the kids now manage their own watching and truth to tell, they watch waaaaaay more than I do. They’d complain at me if I dropped their streams now.

Maybe I should look into what kids shows Paramount has before I just assume it can’t be done.
