      You know, having not been well maintained post illegal dissolution of the USSR, it still actually looks alright. Not amazing but probably still would best being homeless by a long shot.

        Not to mention specfically being shot in less than favorable conditions. Probably looks a lot nicer with better framing on a sunny day. It’s like whenever the BBC films in China and has to put their Oppression Filter over all the footage to make it look worse.

        I think they look fine, and it sure as heck beats having to live on the street.

      You should see the surprise in the eyes of post-soviet generations when they see renovated (or simply maintained) apartment blocks in, for example, Norway and learn they “could look good”
