My money is on backend overrides of anti-spez collaborations.

D&D Honour Amongst Thieves is such a tragically underperforming film.

Aside from just how entertaining it is, The most impressive part is just how effectively it balances so many elements:

• Introducing the world without beating it into our heads.
• Balancing the screen time for all the characters
• Giving each character depth and keeping them multi dimensional.
• Showcasing and respecting the Dungeons & Dragons themes and lore while keeping the story grounded.
• Adding enough gravitas to the plot without taking itself too seriously.

In my opinion it surpasses the magic Joss Wheadon wove into the first Avengers.
