Uh… fires? In italy’s houses? Rarely. Our houses are mostly build in concrete, bricks and other non-flammable materials (the old ones are build in stone). So it’s rare to see a fire here.

And yes, we do have windows:

If you live in the ground floor, most of them have bars, usually on steel (but sometimes in stone/concrete if the house is really old).

If you don’t live in the ground floor, we don’t have bars, but the shutters are made of very resistant material so they are not easy to break. Also, windows are usually with double glass (to insulate the house better). They’d have a hard time breaking in a house here.

If a fire happens, you usually enter through a window (the shutters are not usually down) or simply ask a neighbor for a key.

However, if someone here wants to rob a house, they’ll try drilling a hole in the wall to enter because they know is the fastest way compared to the rest.

I’m reading of ICE breaking your doors to enter your houses and I’m here in my house, with an armored door that makes demolishing the wall an easier way to break in my house (and that it’s the norm here) and I wonder if you shouldn’t be using those or, if you already do, what kind of tools do ICE have to break your doors.

My experience with Animal Crossing started on the DS with Wild World, as I’m sure it did with many others. The game drew me in with its colorful villagers, daily routine, and slice-of-life feel. Years later I got back into the series with New Leaf on the 3DS, putting hundreds of hours into it. The progression system felt just right, and the level of customization for my villager was a real treat. However, when I finally got a hold of New Horizons on my switch, I couldn’t help but feel let down. Rather than a town that felt like it moved on when I didn’t play, I felt like I was in total control. Villagers would have to beg me to let them move out, rather than just leaving on their own. Everything felt a bit too… Doll-house in its design?

Are you me? No, wait, I started with the gamecube game back in the day, but for the rest… are you me?

I got new horizons expecting it to be just a better new leaf and it was a huge let down. I spent hundreds of hours in new leaf, I barely made 40 on new horizons and only because I had friends to “play” with (if you can call it play, the game was so empty of everything!). Even the upgrades to shops and the house were a letdown.

I will definitely try the mod, because I miss the old animal crossing a lot!

I find it funny how it’s been a couple of days that we are seeing “this is the last straw” articles.

Out of curiosity: have you ever been to Italy and see how people drive here? That number of 80% of ebikes being illegal might make a flashy number for you. But I live here and that number not only seems correct, it actually looks on the lower end.

I probably see at least 20 different delivery guys each day. If I see one that’s pedaling, that’s maybe… once a week? That if I’m lucky. They are largely ignored because, as the rest of the traffic related stuff, authorities do shit about it.

Sure, they take a day and stop a hundred bikes and most of them are illegal and they call it a day. And with that, they think they solved the problem, but the fact is there is a huge number of those that are illegal. Although it doesn’t surprise me at all, this country is shit when it comes to enforcing traffic laws in general.

Legally, e-bikes here can’t go over 25km/h. And in any shop you try to buy one, this is the norm. However, to put a throttle on them is so easy that you rarely see an e-bike with someone pedaling.

Is it unfair for those who follow the law? Probably? But when I think as a citizen, not just as a biker, in my country, e-bikes are a problem to my safety even as pedestrian.
