  • Missing the forest for the trees imo

Younger people are increasingly looking to past decades for cultural inspiration. From fashion to music mediums like vinyls and cassettes. I think it’s because they’re by far the most hopeless generation so far, and they can’t really envision any happy future or really, any future at all with global warming, decreasing living standards, technological control, etc

So they look back at the good old days before any of this was a concern to Westerners. Even their online aesthetics only come as far as the early early internet days before everything was so hypercommodified by companies and it was mostly just people fucking around making things they enjoyed with no profit incentive in mind

  • I just had somebody bail on a hotel we booked because they read on a reddit thread that the site I used was a scam. Checked out the thread and it’s the most obvious corporate botted comments I’ve ever seen saying the site is a scam while I’ve used it in the past and there were no problems

I even called the hotel directly and yup, confirmed my reservation no problems. Person still doesn’t trust it because of the reddit thread. Even though they can also literally just call the hotel themselves

I’m actually so done with Americans, Anglos, whatever. Dumbest people on this planet. Dead internet theory will kill us all. China will be the only country left with literate people because of AI restrictions
