I’m not opposed to decentralizing things when they can be, but I don’t think decentralizing things is the be all end all of of “freedom”. Trotskyists make arguments all the time against the “imperialist states of the USSR and PRC” and while I do think there’s criticism to be made about the policies they have had or continue to pursue, I don’t think any historical revolution would have been successful without some level of authority.
