As far as I know, if you’re a dude, you can already just walk into womens bathrooms. There aren’t police outside or anything checking peoples pants. There’s not some epidemic of people legally transitioning just so they can be predators.

These laws end up hurting women, who were born women and were always women, who don’t happen to look “feminine” enough (ETA: or the opposite, cis men who don’t look manly enough), and people start harassing them for using the bathroom they were meant to use.

If you want to go after predators, go after predators. It’s not that hard. You don’t need to go after trans people to do that.

For me personally, I got wireless earbuds because they removed all the damn phone jacks and I didn’t have a choice.

For me personally, it’s because it’s been so aggressively shoved in my face in every context. I never asked for it, and I can’t escape it. It actively gets in my way at work (github copilot) and has already re-enabled itself at least once. I’d be much happier to just let it exist if it would do the same for me.

I’ve tried the import function as well, but it doesn’t seem to have moved since I uploaded my .zip file! It’s been stuck here for a few hours.

I’m really interested in trying pixelfed, but the 15 character username limit is really restrictive. I don’t want to sign up with a name that doesn’t match the handle I already use on instagram and other related places. They have a github issue for it, but it there’s no indication of when it might actually be changed.
