  • lol I was rejected by my ex and now she’s mad at me for even asking

I’m fine with the rejection, was pretty much expected (I thought I had nothing to lose either way so it was worth trying), but l’m confused about the anger. Things ended amicably due to circumstances out of our control (she had to move away). I’ve tried my best to be a good friend to her for the past 6 months. Now that she’s back in town and we’ve hung out a bit I thought it was reasonable to ask her out. She’s treated me like shit for for the last 8 months so maybe I should take the hint and cut all ties

    context

update: she blocked me without any notice or further contact lol. Doesn’t make sense to me at all but at least the ties were cut

  • Same, my friends all have new priorities and obligations with significant others, and then there’s me 🥴. I convinced the person who used to be my most reliable friend to do big hikes with me in Europe and Mt Whitney this summer, but he’s only done like 2 hikes this year so we don’t know how it will go lol

Sawyer squeezes (the regular ones) are the way to go. Coupling one with a Cnoc bladder and a cheap water bottle female-female coupling (I think from Garage Grown Gear but also sold by Sawyer) makes either a gravity-fed or hand-squeezed setup easy. I’ve started bringing it with me on regular hikes in place of extra packed water

Do you backpack without a filter?? I know giardia isn’t guaranteed, but that’s pretty brave lol

  • If 100% of the country was returned to tribal nations under the ideology of land back, it would abolish private property and return land to common ownership. This is generally an aim of communists. It wouldn’t mean “all white people lose political power forever”, because the people living there would join the political structure of the nations. It would be a revolution in terms of food production, private property, and protecting the environment. It isn’t inherently a marxist movement though, from my understanding
