Yeah, it’s insane. Usually I don’t follow what Trump says 1:1, but read about it in some news article, social media, etc. That is bad enough, but when I actually hear him speak sometimes, I need to cringe so bad… And then I remember a majority of Americans either decided “yep, that guy seems the best option” or “can’t see a difference between the candidates” and I lose all hope in humanity.

I would say it probably makes more sense in countries that are really hawkish about torrenting (like Germany) and you don’t want to risk being caught.

Außerdem spielt das alles eh keine Rolle, wenn die nächsten Wahlen nicht mehr frei sind.

Eril@feddit.orgto World News@lemmy.world•US to withdraw from NATO under Republican billEnglish22·13 天前I would say the rest of NATO should be able to hold against Russia for sure, especially in its current state.
I would just be worried about short-term problems because of disrupted logistics due to the US withdrawing. Or maybe that other countries would follow the US in leaving.
But in the end, that is just my guess.

Eril@feddit.orgto Europe@feddit.org•Spain Is Right to Reject Increased Military SpendingEnglish72·19 天前I agree. If we start spending half of our budget on the military, I’m going to lose my shit. 5% is some weird fantasy number, that somehow is actually discussed now? If not even the US, who are known for their excessive military spending, are even close to it, I’m sure you can have a proper military with a lot less.

I hate how slow or even backwards the EU is on some topics, but people forget so easily the crazy amount of good things it brought us as well, simply because they are considered normal now.
I’m strongly in favor of some deep reforms (and even think it’s one of the most important things to get on now), but I am definitely not in favor of just dismantling the EU.
