The surface of the Earth is 3d object, thus moving North is a 3d vector which modifies the baby’s velocity relative to the Earth’s center of gravity as it curves the movement of the baby flying through the air.

Velocity is speed and direction. So “16.4 mph north” is sufficient.

New Mexico was Nuevo México before the US was the US. Hell it was Nuevo México before Jamestown was settled.
The caterpillar of that species looks like a tiny toupee or mustache, but is one of the most venomous caterpillars in existence. They’re native to where I live and we call them “asps”.
You’re all good. Hill Country is def drier than anything east of it.

7·8 months agoYou can play split screen multiplayer if you go to the 2p wireless mode and make an empty room to run around in. There’ll be an annoying waiting to connect message at the very bottom though. The only downside is that you can’t do the P block challenges. But the ? Panels and Peach Medallions are still there. My 4 year old loves doing this with me.
Texas does have desert. About 10% of the state is desert, specifically the Chihuahan desert, the largest one in North America. I’m a 6th generation native of the Hill Country, and its very far from desert as you said. Primarily oak and juniper woodlands and grasslands. Surprised you picked the Hill Country as “the closest to a desert” when the Llano Estacado and Permian basin are much more arid and devoid of trees and other vegetation.
I agree with everything else you said. Texas has bad PR, and a hostile gov that hates everyone here, especially their own base.

Parenting@lemmy.world•How did you Potty Train? How'd that go?English
3·1 year agoWith my daughter she was absolutely terrified of falling into the big potty. We got to her use the training potty fairly easy by just making it available, but couldn’t get her to transition to the big potty. We got it to work by taking the small lid off the training potty and putting it over the seat on the big potty and she then felt safe enough to start using it. Overall it was a bit of a fight, but she’s been using it for over a year now, and all has been good since.

I suppose I see “North” as more of a function rather than a variable. When you specify North you’re specifying a relative direction. Because the vector one takes to go North from the US is not the same vector one takes from Russia. The issue is we’re mapping a direction to a point on a sphere So yes North isn’t an absolute vector, but it is a shortcut to calculating the vector to the location you want to go. If I was writing this function, I could easily add in a check to determine if we’re heading towards the equator before we hit North or not based on the vector direction. And just keep it stuck to the sphere’s normal. The initial inclination would be used for calculating the initial vector. I think our wires are getting crossed cause I’m used to 3d programming and velocity is usually
spd * (x, y, z)and the inclinations and such you’re speaking of are baked into the(x, y, z)vector that is calculated to determine the “direction” part of the “direction + magnitude” definition of a vector. (I’m enjoying this by the way)
