Imagine alienating your core client base of the company that you use as collateral for all your business dealings. If Tesla stock tanks Elons loans get called in as the collateral would be worthless and he doesn’t have liquid cash to cover his other investments. Would be a site for sore eyes to watch him go penniless.
Idk if you are old enough to remember digg but that’s what Reddit replaced when Digg made some changes to their policies. And so the cycle continues.

Corporations don’t react as much as you’d think to 1 week interruptions in revenue numbers unfortunately as they are beholden to shareholders and shareholders react to quarterly earnings report. To truly send a message it would need to boycott from Q1 to Q2, basically Jan-April or even May.
