Jeanne-Paul Marat

Nimrod who forgot their password and had to make a new account.

Young American Orthodox Marxist-Leninist. Han Suyin’s biggest fan. Jacobin [in the based way and not in the american liberal way] and friend of the people. Any pronouns are fine, but prefer she/her or they/them

  • I was thinking about it recently, another reason [beyond the other 10973 ones] I have job searching is that the stakes on each side are so different. HR person makes a mistake (assuming it’s not illegal and is blatant enough that you can actually sue) it’s “oopsie, bit of a mess up on my part” cause the stakes are that they might be mildly reprimanded at most. But if the applicant messes up (both in ways that are actual mistakes and ways that are “I said one word wrong and this neurotypical-maxxer thinks I’m a basement dweller now”) it’s “sorry, we don’t think you’ll be good for this position” and the consequences are you get to stress more about finding a job and not having an income

  • Hot take…?: Marx having Twitter would’ve been bad…?

But also Marx had bad takes occasionally anyway. That’s the nature of being a person. So what do you do when someone makes mistakes? You criticize them and you work on it. And I’m certainly going to criticize someone who talks about a “sub strata” of humanity. The op didn’t say “yugo is a nazi” they said “yugo tweets nazi shit.” Which…he did. At the very least it’s extremely ableist.

Also, there’s a difference between “something might be wrong with these people” and “there’s a substrata of humans who can’t think correctly.” In any case, it’s just extremely shit logic, and even more shit logic to go “should I post this to my audience? Hell yeah!”

  • Ugh, my statistics professor sucks

I mean i want to like him, but he has such a goddamn ego about him. Our first and second classes were basically about the goddamn 13 page long syllabus, and we forgot literally 1 inconsequential thing in it and he’s like “I’m so disappointed i told you guys to read the syllabus.” And i know we don’t hate ai a ton here but he has such a goddamn insistence about using it that it bugs me.

But whatever, he’s the only professor for this class so there’s no use in crying about it

  • This isn’t the entire problem, obviously, but this is why I don’t use Twitter [beyond the garbage ui]. It’s basically what happens when you give people a way to say intrusive thoughts completely seriously.

This type of thing isn’t something ive thought specifically, but I’ve had plenty of bad takes in my head that I didn’t spread to an audience with 100% confidence. [For example: Having very strong opinions on the Turkish-Greek conflicts (despite being from neither country). Luckily beyond just disliking Rome and some snide remarks about how much I love that Ataturk renamed Constantinople, i didn’t say anything]. I’m sure there’s plenty of well meaning people who might have had similar thoughts to Yugo here, but didn’t say them.

The other issue is that Yugo should be better than this. It’s like what I said about 1dime recently. If this was a baby leftist then I’d be concerned but the thought would probably just be an impulsive thing that’s easily corrected. Yugo has an audience of thousands and should be well developed, ergo this thought is more concerning in him than anonympus user “libdestroyer9000”

Edit: more seriously, what’s the explanation for this? Taking this argument seriously has its own problems sure, but like…what biological factor would be at play here? Why would one place act like this and another not? Beyond just “stupid people.” Which definitely isn’t ableist at all

  • Yknow how the KKK really hates Catholics and by extension hates Mexicans [well, hates Mexicans more beyond just being really racist?]

Imagine the opposite of that. Paxtube is a “tradcath” [read: integralist fascist] and so hates the USA for being protestant and for not being racist enough. Ergo, China is based for being racist [not true, many han nationalists are also mad china isn’t actually racist against ethnic minorities].

The noted Nazi stonetoss also makes statements to this effect. It’s pure atomized idealism and, imo, doesn’t actually factor that highly into their beliefs beyond being edgy

  • To add on: I hate it when people don’t have definable ideological throughlines.

I’m not saying you need to have a online brainrot “I’m a Marxist-anti-engels-maoist-Hu Jintaoist-Hoxcaist with Turkish characteristics,” but simply having a theoretical backing to what you’re talking about.

I’m mainly referring to people here who are basically Marxist, maybe…? Like…I think they are, but they don’t dicuss their theory, their marx and their philosophy of praxis. They’ll critique things but don’t really present how those critiques fit into their dialectical worldview.

A couple examples off the tip of my head would be 1dime, Hasan [don’t watch too much, correct me if I’m wrong], and maybs rguably Orwell (idk, he was just vaguely a socialist. I know he liked Catalonia a lot but was he a full fledged anarchist? Idk, thats my point)

  • I can’t speak on the purges [probably related to corruption in China’s case], but Xi’s works are mainly speeches but they vary in terms of what they’re about and where they are at.

In some cases they are ribbon cuttiing ceremonies, but in others its general speeches to organizations, universities, etc.

In any case Xi Jinping thought is a genuine refinement of Socialism with Chinese Charecteristics, and Governance of China explains the main goals quite clearly.
