Both NWN and (perhaps even more strongly) NWN2 still absolutely slap. Mask of the Betrayer is a banger of an epic-level campaign, and really did a great job both showing how bonkers 3.5E can get at high levels while also keeping things interesting.

I hate that I get this.
My students are zoomers, and they love to shit on gen alpha, despite many of them not even knowing one.
Man, Pathfinder continues to just be 2000% cooler than D&D.
I was too, and for quite a while. It was really disappointing.
If you have a subscription to AdGuard (either the VPN or just the adblocker service), they’ll give you DNS and proxy servers that you can add to your router’s configuration that block all ads for all devices on your network. It’s awesome. It even works on mobile game ads. Worth every penny, in my opinion. There might be some free services out there that do the same thing.
Yeah, the writing actually wasn’t bad, and again I really liked the art style. That just wasn’t enough to make up for everything else. Unfortunate, because it really did have some charm. All the buff items being different beer brands and the level up noise being a can of beer cracking also made me chuckle, but it’s like they were trying to make questing and combat dull. Every quest was a string of fetch tasks with no rhyme or reason and no guidance. “Find me 10 radio parts.” “OK good job. Now find me ten books.” Yeah, nah.
I really wanted to like Broken Roads. On paper it looks fantastic: classic Fallout-style CRPG set in the Australian outback and centering heavily on moral philosophy. Somehow they managed to make it so incredibly boring, though. Couldn’t even get through it. Loved the visual style, but the quests were so buggy and combat was amazingly dull. Bummer.
Same. Unless I’m camping, I have to shower every night before bed or I feel gross and greasy. I don’t get how people go weeks without it.
I’m not sure emotions really have an ethical valence at all. You can be happy or sad about whatever you want without it being blameworthy or praiseworthy. I don’t think it’s ethical to actively make things worse, though.
I find the faux-concern “it’s understandable that you’re so traumatized, but have you thought about getting help to get past your PTSD?” shit even more infuriating than outright accusations of cowardice.
“I won’t apologize for the United States. I don’t care what the facts are” is also a banger.
Imagine if this was the blitzkrieg, and instead of going to bomb shelters people were just like “I’m sick of hearing about these bombings, I’m just going to pretend they’re not happening and leave it up to fate.” And then the bomb shelters are all closed and even the people who still wanted to take shelter are left to fend for themselves.
And the people who try to take shelter or talk about all the bombings are told that they should seek therapy for their uncontrolled and unreasonable anxiety.
“Nothing will fundamentally change” has got to be up there on the list.
Every instance that I’m familiar with was either directly debunked or suffers from really obvious experimental design problems. I’ve never seen a single well-designed controlled study that shows unambiguous paranormal results.
I know, it’s so incredibly cringey now. Bush was legitimately a fucking monster even for a US President though, so at least I got that going for me.
He’s also oddly ahead of his time in his fixation on “wokeness” as what he mostly means by “the left.”
