SitDto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Steam's Latest Client Update Introduces Many Refinements for LinuxEnglish0·20 days ago- borderless window mode it is. you might be wanting to run exclusive fullscreen but that’s only an advantage on windows and their terrible compositor
- i’m just on pipewire natively and things are ok. i only noticed that sound can get flaky when you’re coasting too close to 100% cpu
- yeah gamescope might not work, though it doesn’t really give cs2 any advantage - fsr is already in the game. if you’re trying to do stretched 4:3 maybe use your screen’s upscaler?
- for me there was something similar on nvidia, had to toggle vsync and/or msaa on/off, not sure which combination did it. on amd it’s fine. maybe one of those things where you either wait for nvidia to not prioritize big ai, or you give the new NVK driver a try.

it’s a good os. on the other hand everytime i learned anything in windows it would get invalidated by new ux and new bugs…

there are no settings for all the shit, just some of it, that Microsoft is permitting to switch off. you therefore just have a half-still-shit-on system. that’s totally fine, i don’t expect anyone to invest time into anything. we ain’t got much to start with. but no one using windows is really in control

SitDto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•As Epic Games continue ignoring Linux / Steam Deck for Fortnite they're putting it on Windows ArmEnglish1·1 month agonot surprised, they aren’t even smart enough to just give us Linux-only matchmaking which would give them either cheap peace or (and that probably scares them) a sudden realization that the evil cheaters are not as common here as they pretend). oh well, seems like you get computer science degrees now for enough grocery loyalty points or something 😂
this meme is especially true for students and the likes 😂 whenever you share a one-room flat with a laptop made by clueless techbros for clueless techbros, the increased fan whirring really shines.
to be fair you need it for 24fps movies. however, on 144Hz monitors it’s entirely pointless indeed
man it’s so cool how they flex their legal muscle, but can Nintendo also pull off a new Pokemon game that doesn’t suck ass? 😂
ah i see, a fellow eloquent butt enjoyer
question to my heavily armed pingus, how do we snipe 'em in Wayland 🔫🐧
true but nvidia could solve this problem in a day easily. they just have to admit that their business moved on and they make more money with ai. then open source and cc-license all gaming related gpu tech. then the gaming graphics landscape will flourish.
right now they have a walled garden but forgot to build a gate into the wall so it’s just there to allow the 10 gpu owners to upload cool 4k Cyberpunk videos
it’s not a wrong meme but valve is ok to do this because the device, like many consoles, is a loss leader.
however, try to even find the Linux desktop mode on a ps5/xbox… in this way we’re still treated above and beyond what’s industry standard.
microsoft, on the other hand, has overstayed their welcome so often and so obnoxiously, people just don’t want any of their shit
we got a champion-level pun here in the form of the word regard, friend 😎👍
