1·7 days agoI don’t think so.
Ik that Piefed has it, but I don’t think that Lemmy does.

1·10 days agoBut doesn’t Piefed have the ability for mods to distinguish / un - distinguish themselves?
Teknevra@lemmy.worldOPtoLemmy Support@lemmy.ml•Feature Suggestion / Discussion: Has Lemmy ever considered potentially adding a Group Chat feature?English
23·15 days agoWhat about, instead of having the DM/GC feature in-house, Lemmy instead integrated a separate protocol like:
Matrix
XMPP
Delta Chat
Session
Briar
SimpleX
OMEMO (XMPP Extension)
etc.
And used that instead, for the DM/GC?
That way, Lemmy wouldn’t have to donate resources to DM/GC, but users would still be able to message each other.
And not have to have two separate accounts on two different platforms.
Thx for the information.
So, would such an idea be possible, or does the API just treat them all the same?

1·16 days agoAre the tags similar to how reddit allows users to put custom labels / tags in a Subreddit?
Or are they more like content moderation?
The GitHub.

Because I’m a mod, and whenever I comment within the community, it always just shows my my mod status (green, because I use Summit for Lemmy)

11·29 days agoThen I guess that the term “Trade In” might be better.
As I mentioned in the post, it’s similar to how Pachinko Rules work.

13·29 days agoThe coins themselves don’t have any monetary value.
What you do is you purchase the amount that you want, on the platform server that you are planning on using them on.
Ie Peertube.
You would then tip / etc with them.
And then, the creators, etc. that you pay, would then be able to cash out those coins for real currency.

21·29 days agoIt wouldn’t just be for servers, but also for content creators (ie Peertubers), etc.
It could be used for tips, subscriptions, etc.

13·29 days agoYes they could.
It could potentially help Peertube creators, creators (eg Peertubers) etc.
It would allow them to make money, without having to use Crypto, etc.

5·1 month agoUh, that link takes me to a Page Not Found. Whoops! page, although, immediately after arriving, I do get a very quick flash of the article.

I’m not asking for Lemmy to become a chat platform.
I just don’t think that it is reasonable to expect / require users to have to download a whole other app / platform, just to converse with the mods as a group.
