  • I just don’t think people DO encourage prepuberty kids to question their gender often at all, at least in person, parents or otherwise. I’m sure it has happened, its just a stupidly rare edge case. That guy in question also thought a book should be banned in elementary school libraries if it depicts a graphic sexually toned make out scene, and that kids shouldn’t be exposed to discussions involving sexuality & gender until they’re near puberty age. What are your thoughts on that? Appreciate your perspective.

  • Ugh wrote 2 huge paragraphs but am on a flight & lost signal as I hit submit -.- will tldr this:

Edit- not as much of a tldr as I initially intended 😂

What are your thoughts on people encouraging kids under the age of 10 to question their gender? From the folks I’ve gotten into it with about the issues they have with trans folk, they seem fixated on that being monstrous. Which from what I’ve read, a lotta people who transition DO question their gender/have a feeling as young as 3-4. A Croatian girl I got into a 7 hour argument with brought up a show where 8 year olds were being shown transitioned people naked, which from what I recall googling it seemed educational. She just thinks trans people are all kiddie diddling monsters -.- Another American guy just seemed so fixated on young kids having life altering surgeries prepuberty that they later regret in life… Even with me sending him studies showing how low the regret % is compared to how much suicide rates go down. Like ya if you cut your dick off as a 13 year old and regret it when you’re 30, I feel for you. It’s just such a niche case.

I stopped talking to that guy after the recent elections here. Too much rent free living in my head assuming he was misinformed and not just someone with a different value system (ie became pro life and all the other stupid American conservative bs, so a piece of shit). Going through the grief process of realizing I’ve lost a friend of 8 years, and that the negative personality traits I was willing to overlook due to other positive attributes were there the whole time…
