I know Aqua said from the very beginning that he intended to get revenge no matter the cost to himself, but it’s still a little surprising to see it end like this.

I’m two episodes from the end right now, and once it got past the slow start this show was really excellent!
is there a christmas-themed anime movie?
It’s not a movie exactly, but at only 6 episodes Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket is roughly movie-length. If I remember right it doesn’t require any prior knowledge of Gundam, either. It’s not exactly Christmas themed, but as I recall it takes place in December and there’s Christmas decorations and stuff in the background of some scenes.
A bit of a stretch, I know.
1 LN volume is not equal to 1 manga volume is not equal to 1 anime season. So…open to ideas on that one.
I was going to suggest a certain number of chapters, but it occurs to me that 1 manga chapter is not always equal to 1 manga chapter; manga from monthly magazines tend to have much longer chapters on average. Anyways, I think 1 discussion thread for 1 volume of manga per week is a good pace. Since it’s a smaller community having a lot to talk about at once might help to make the discussion threads more active.
I think a good candidate series would be something short, but with good ratings overall. Most of my favorite manga have at least 10 volumes though so I dunno.
For me it’s got to be Skip and Loafer. It has the most human characters I’ve seen in a manga, which makes every character interaction a delight.
Curiosity sated. Thanks!
Feels weird to say that one of my favorite isekai is a shoujo mech anime, but you’re absolutely right.
Heck, I might even be able to say that two of my favorite isekai are shoujo mech anime depending on how much I like Magic Knight Rayearth once I finally get around to watching or reading that.
I love this scene so much. Everyone always focuses on how edgy Heero is being, which is of course a really funny aspect of this scene. The clapping is what always gets the first laugh out of me though. It’s just so absurd.
Well I guess if you’re offering… does wjs stand for anything in particular? Or is that too private a question?
Now that you mention it, I’m not sure whether to call Bravern a romance either. Romance is kind of the focus, but it kind of isn’t. Either way it’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.
I’d love to get a good Junji Ito adaptation someday but at this point I’m beginning to thing the guy is cursed.
Man, why do all the anime streaming sites have to be so terrible?
This show is a weird one to me. The humor is for the most part really good. The mecha-ude are very charming. Any time it tries to do anything serious though it feels like the writing takes a drop in quality.
Oh, I don’t care that much about whether the season comes to its own satisfying conclusion. I was mostly wondering this because I was considering maybe picking up the light novels when I have the time.
Anyone know how long this one is? I’m curious to know whether Season 2 is likely to finish the story.
Does the anilist api give you the release date of individual episodes? If so you could do a check to see if they’re all the same day. Or is that what you were getting at when talking about parsing nyaa?
Maybe in the future for shows like this that are dropped all at once a discussion thread for the whole show instead of individual episodes would make sense. I guess most shows are too long to watch in one sitting though, unlike this one.
Just finished watching the whole show. A couple plot points were really dumb, which is unfortunate because there are only 6 episodes so it was being dumb at least 1/3 of the time. The most impressive part to me was that it didn’t look like ass despite being 100% 3d-rendered. Certainly not the worst thing I’ve ever seen, but I won’t be recommending it to people either.
This episode was a great reminder of why Haryu is just the best. What a guy.
Yotsuba&! is great! I wish it got more recognition as a hilarious manga rather than just a stepping stone for Japanese learners.
My favorite though is Kaguya-sama: Love is War. The characters are all insane in the most perfect ways. Skip and Loafer is a close runner-up though; I love its characters for all being so grounded they feel more like people than manga characters. It’s a very different feel than I get from other manga.
I had no idea this was getting an anime! Something to look forward to with the new year I guess.
