Ems, it has been effected but not as bad as other things

I work in ems and I don’t currently go to therapy but I have previously and may again at some point but that’s less work related more personal issues

But trying therapy is never a bad idea if she is willing to try it I say go ahead although as others have said most of the time the work isn’t too bad and typically at least in ems we have basically group talks to discuss what happened and work through things in a pseudo therapy kind of setting

For me it was finding something I love and using the job as training to help with it in situations I like

Then again I am working in ems so the vast majority of my time is spent sitting around doing whatever I want being on call to sprint out the door of the base and or start moving the truck quickly

But seriously if you find something you love and get an actual job that wont suck every last bit of enjoyment from it having a job isn’t the problem

Some places do different shifts you may wanna look into

Like the place I am at does the standard work days but you can also do like 4 12 hour shifts or at some bases a 24 hour shift 3 days one week than 2 the next with every other day off and as long as you have the pager set loud enough you can be sleeping a decent portion of the after dark period on either a 24 or a night shift 12

I am probably gonna go with either graphene or a Linux phone next because of google doing their stupid shit as always

I work 12 hour days but some people at my workplace work as much as 24 hour shifts working every other day

I get 5 personal days per year that are also my sick days and starting next year I can request up to 5 vacation days

They can call me in at any time if they need someone

They can fire me at any time for any reason with no warning

And since I am considered essential public safety personnel it is illegal to strike unless we go through a massive series of steps and even then they could make it criminal very easily

This isn’t the same as what is going on over there but still this country is not going well and I feel it is important people know that there isn’t even the degree of separation of it going on in another country this is happening in the united states right now

I was gonna give a longer explanation that goes into detail but it was a combination of a large amount of things

1. I was raised with a general distrust of the government so when I eventually found things that they were actually lying about instead of random shit i was ready to believe it especially since there was actual evidence to go with instead of just because its th gubmet

2. I happened to fall into slightly more left wing circles who were willing to actually answer my stupid ass loaded questions that at the time I didnt know were loaded

3. And this is a really big one, I realized that crippling gender dysphoria is not a normal state for every cis dude and that I am in fact trans more importantly related to that is that the conservative people I know overwhelmingly hate trans people

4. related to 3 but the fact that people on the left let me question my identity and beliefs without judgement for the absolutely stupid shit I believed at the time

They are legally required to help no matter your ability to pay but that doesn’t mean they won’t try their best to force you into debt after

I use it for school shit because they don’t work with iceraven(my preferred mobile Firefox fork)

I use it but just barely because it is better than things like discord for mildly sensitive stuff
