World News@quokk.au•Iran new supreme leader Khamenei's wealth estimated at more than $100 billionEnglish
71·1 day agookay tell me - is he a rapist
I mean in provinces like Sistan and Baluchestan, South Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, Ardebil, Zanjan, East Azarbaijan, you have 30% of all marriages being child marriages.
Then Golestan, Yazd, Kerman, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Hamadan, Qazvin, Qom and West Azarbaijan with ~+20% being child marriages. The rest have like 10-19% child marriage rate.Only Tehran has the lowest, around 8% of marriages being child marriages.
Oh and let’s not forget the practice of “temporary marriages”.
ALSO: sorry for the vomit emoji, I accidentally put it there instead of my message and I don’t know how to take it out 😣 (nvm, I replaced it with a double exclamation point emoji)
Its all true
Okay, I’ll bite.
Give me your source according to which 13% of women in USA literally cannot read or write.
And don’t give me literacy levels, that’s not what your post says. It explicitly says that 13% of Usaian women can’t read or write. Give me that source. Let’s see it.
It explicitly says “87% of women can read and write”, meaning that 13% of USA’s women literally can’t read and write.
That’s so stupid that I’m inclined to believe that whoever made this is functionally illiterate.
You don’t need to lie about shit to make USA look bad. Plenty of things to say that shows how bad USA is.
And definitely you don’t need to gargle the balls of an Islamist regime to make Usaians look bad.
Utter slop. The AI is a “nice” touch too. Gag.
Also a very obvious lie. There no chance in hell that in USA there are 13% of women (22 million women!!!) who literally cannot read and write.
This post is just slop, lol.

Europe@feddit.org•Hungary’s Orbán claims Ukrainians ‘threatened’ his family as election campaign ramps upEnglish
13·2 days agoOrban should just fuck off
He is also insanely incompetent, and has caused Hungary to have some of the worst economies in EU!He can’t just fuck off and he’s not incompetent, he’s a thief. Him and his buddies have stollen so much of Hungary’s money and resources that if they’re taken out of power there’s a considerable of chance of people having to go to jail.
That’s why we’re seeing all these kinda desperate acts. He’s trying to cling to power through any means.
It’s gonna be a rough month for Hungarians, but I hope they can pull it off.

5·2 days agoHe is absolutely desperate and its lovely to see. I hope we’ll eventually get to see him crashing out live on TV after our neighbors remove him and his filth from leadership.

1·2 days agothe US/Israel still started it
No one argued against that. You’re making things up so you can win an imaginary argument. You gotta be Usaian, there’s no way any other people are this ridiculous.

News@lemmy.world•Iran appears to have conducted a significant cyberattack against a U.S. company, a first since the war startedEnglish
62·2 days agoIt’s too quick an escalation.
I’m sorry? They’re okay with bombing US bases and kill soldiers, but cyber attacks against government websites is one step too far? They’re bombing shit left and right but hacking some Usaian company is too much?
Sorry, that really doesn’t track.
A more feasible explanation would be that this is the best they can do right now. I really don’t see any reason why they would hold back.

World News@lemmy.world•Italian base in Iraqi Kurdistan hit by missile, defence ministry saysEnglish
3·2 days agoIts not about what Italy did, its about what Italy can do. The Islamic Regime’s aims now at hitting whatever they can hard enough so those countries put pressure on USA/Israel to stop their aggression (but not hard enough for those countries to figure out that its a safer bet in the long-term to join with USA/Israel and attack Iran)
At least, to my knowledge, that’s what it seems to be happening.

5·3 days agoAgreed. Only worded it like that so I didn’t start writing text-walls again about Israel/USA’s actual interests in this conflict. Neither of any of those involved care about the wellbeing/freedom of the Iranian people.

61·3 days agoI admit, I don’t know enough about Israel’s internal politics to make a good judgement on that - but to me it feels like Israel either wouldn’t be so emboldened or would pretty much stop their actions if USA were to back off. Or at most only launch rockets every now and then.

World News@quokk.au•Iran's Islamic Regime state media says they will kill Iranians both inside and outside the country: "We'll make your mothers mourn you"English
181·3 days agobut I never took into account the incompetence of Iran’s new despot
I dunno if this is incompetence, its rather just the modus operandi of the regime.
They killed thousands or possibly tens of thousands just for protesting. When this will be over - and I overwhelmingly doubt USA/Israel/etc will lead to the fall of the Islamic regime - they will want to ensure that there is no threat to the regime. Failed revolutions are often followed by cleansings (read: mass killings and more violent oppression).
Its going to be so bad and people are going to go back to largely ignoring it, like they did in the decades prior.

I absolutely believe them.

News@lemmy.world•Iran Makes Veiled Threat to Trump: 'Be Careful Not To Get Eliminated'English
193·3 days agoTrump is 100000000000000% more likely to die from eating yet another McBurger in the next 24hrs than he’s to be assassinated by the Islamic Regime from now to the end of his natural lifespan.
Also, to people who’d view that as a positive because hurr durr Trump (I get it): that would lead to President Vance with a mandate to wage a war of revenge. The whole political discussion would suddenly shift from all the damage that Trump has done to USA, to destroying Iran, with a high possibility of giving more strength to republicans.

202·3 days agoMom was willing to suffer or die just so her daughter could live in relative freedom.
The worst part of it all is that even though she changed her mind in order to protect her mother and family, its meaningless. The Islamist regime will still hurt or possibly kill them simply for the fact that she dared defy them in one instance, they will not allow them to go unpunished.

Or, which I find more likely:
