Fascism is just capitalism from the perspective of the exploited. Liberalism is capitalism from the perspective of the exploiters. The term “fascism” originates in anti-union activity in early 20th century Italy, but capitalism itself (a market society in which every aspect of existence is subordinated to market imperatives) begins in 16th century England, though it has some deeper roots in Florence (see the Ciompi Revolt) and Venice (sort of like a medieval proto-USA).

For real though it doesn’t even matter who they run. The democrats are petite bourgeoisie who believe whatever the corporate press tells them. They’ll fall in line behind whatever dogshit candidate the DNC chooses because whoever the RNC chooses will somehow be worse even though they’ll actually be the same, just with slightly different definitions of what constitutes politeness.
A couple of years ago a local landlord here needed some kind of operation. He was super unhealthy and the doctors here refused to do the operation, saying it was too dangerous. He left our northeastern state and got a doctor in Florida to do the operation instead. And then he died haha.
It’s healthier for people not to wear seatbelts and then to get into car crashes at least a few times per year.
Yeah this is definitely just the bourgeoisie wanting to cull the weak. I also think that anti-masking is coming from liability concerns. If everyone is masking, that means that people are in danger, capital accumulation cannot proceed, and workers will have grounds for lawsuits (at the very least). Any sort of universal policy or program is also a danger to the bourgeoisie, which maximizes profits by atomizing people into individual consumers.
If global communism isn’t a thing, that means we need to fight much harder.
There’s still a mask mandate at a small hospital where my spouse works. This place also caters to millionaires and billionaires. The nurses however aren’t the best at keeping their masks on.

There’s a rightwing town nearby that I’m forced to work in, and I’ve seen an Israeli flag and bumper sticker there. It’s always associated with really Christian / Trump people—Biden’s base, in other words.

Me too. Also having trouble getting my oldest to mask at school.
When I first met my blue collar coworker, a guy who was going to be training me all day, he ordered me to take off my mask for a moment so he could see my face (I held my breath), then said that the covid vaccine had injured his relatives. The dude spent a lot of time on facebook and was (forgive the language) completely insane but very good at his job.
It’s wonderful to see rightwing people blaming the vaccine for premature deaths. Nobody even coughed when the pandemic began, but as soon as the vaccines were introduced, everyone died.

Been reading Memed My Hawk by Yashar Kemal for awhile now. Solid novel about a Turkish kid who becomes a bandit. Politically excellent. The first few pages are a little slow so don’t let them stop you.
Since I got my first full-time job in years I had this uncontrollable urge to read Michael Crichton’s Sphere. Don’t judge me too harshly. It’s kind of shitty and awesome at the same time? Like it’s almost just an outline for a movie script but it’s still keeping my interest as I’m dying of boredom at work. As a writer I can’t help being impressed by how Crichton throws a twist at you like every five pages for hundreds of pages. A high school friend of mine was obsessed with him.
I think a blockade of the USA is inevitable because it seems impossible to invade and then pacify the USA…unless you’re using drone swarms or something. But who knows.
