Ah, my first kindred spirit

God… dammit

Honestly, KH3 and FF15 were major disappointments for me. Even tho Nomura stepped away from 15 and the story, I still blame Nomura for those dumpster fires.

The main point of disgust with KH3 was thinking I was halfway done with the story and ready for the 2nd visits of each of the game worlds, only to find we were at the fucking end???

Also that games’ 1k heartless battle with the that god awful heartless background with the ass framerate? At that point I had given up on the series.

Then, some time later, I like watching youtube while doing the dishes, so I gave the story to Union X and Dark Road a try, and hot damn did they just pull me back in.

I’m upset this didn’t get a 3DS remaster but maybe that is because they had something bigger in store. This was one of my firsts. My timeline is a but muddy but 7 was my first, followed by either Anthology or 8.

Recently read an article about it’s 2 ‘main characters’, both of which I tended to neglect as the story went on. Considering playing again with at least one of those in my party as the game progresses.

For me, the original Nier I had on the 360 wasn’t a masterpiece, but boy did that music keep me engaged which is why I didn’t hesitate to pick up Automata.

Automata however was a 10/10 and they brought back some old favorites like Song of the Ancient’s and there was a version of Emil from an Arrangement album that is top tier. But Pascal’s Village and Amusement Park are my favorites from Automata.

Shameful plug - Friend A from Your Lie in April was also recommended on Spotify based on my Nier history. It scratched that itch so I was so confused when I went looking for where in the Nier series it was from and I got this random anime instead.
