  • It’s like MAGA Americans, working against their best interests because they are too angry to stop and think.

These are Cipolla’s five fundamental laws of stupidity:

    1. Always and inevitably, everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.

    2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.

    3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.

    4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular, non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places, and under any circumstances, to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.

    5. A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.

  • We have personally but Australian voters ( 85%) don’t give a shit and are wholly unconcerned, it should come as no surprise then that politicians don’t either.

I moved from Far Northern Australia to Northern NSW to escape the tropics in 2008. Then in 2019 realised it was getting worse more quickly then I anticipated so moved to Tasmania after covid shutdowns, after a brief flirtation with moving to NZ. We are now off a flood plain and away from bush fire risk on the edge of a small rural town.

Last year was colder then average here in Tasmania when we had an SSW (Sudden Stratospheric Warming) over Antarticia, common in the Artic but only the second one recorded in Antarctica, an SSW causes pertubations in the southern jetstream.

I am not here to escape climate change, tjays now impossible, I just don’t want to be at the front of the queue as many Australians have deliberately chosen.

What I find most disturbing is so many parents doing their best to make the future worse for thier children, truly extraordinary.

  • In your car it might be, but it isnt that limited in others aren’t. Eg the BYD Shark is 2.6kW from memory.

Also V2L isn’t about running your home, thays V2H, Vehicle to Home

V2G is another but it’s about pumping excess cheap power, or your own solar power into your car battery through the day and then being paid to drain some back into the grid at peak times

Many ecars support V2L, fewer support V2H or V2G, you also need the required hardware and installation to enable that at your home, neither V2G or V2H are cheap and it has to be legal in your area, for example, it was only made legal in Australia in March last year from memory (outside a couple test areas)

V2L is about running an electrical appliance eg an induction cookplate at the park to cook burgers for a picnic etc. Or power your refrigeration, a couple LED lights and phone charger via an extension cord if your house looses power for a day or two.
