  • So you take part in consumerism but you aren’t part of the problem. It’s the others who take part in consumerism that are the problem. Because you consume at an acceptable level and others at unacceptable levels. I’m not sure how you are evaluating how much I or others are consuming, nor do I understand how you decided what is excessive in your little purity test but since you seem so excited to win a debate nobody is having, I’m certain you’ll follow this up with something more than “muusemuuse wouldn’t understand.”

  • It looks Republicans want to just shuttle them around like they do with homeless people, rounding them up from red states, dumping them in blue states, and pretending they solved a problem.

Fine, let’s play this game. Trump rounds up citizens he dislikes, pretends they aren’t american citizens, ships them off to other countries who then say “these aren’t our citizens so we’re shipping them back.” It’s cruel, which he’s okay with, but also expensive because they will constantly be sent back to the US to deal with, which is expensive and the costs will only grow since there is no real plan to deal with them. Costs can be used to hurt him politically.

So what’s the point? You cant just put people in other countries, say “not it” and walk away.

  • Suggestion: get the most visually different Linux distros you can. Set up demo machines with each different desktop environment. Leave them out and available for people to try each and see what they like. If you aren’t netbooting the installs, leave a bowl of cheap flash drives with the distros they are trying by the demo machines. Let people play with each one and describe what they want. Then when install time comes, go nuts.

Rumor has it Apple wasn’t happy with the crease in folding phones and didn’t want to launch a foldable until they could solve the crease problem. Supposedly, they are gearing up to launch theirs next year and Samsung will be adopting apples solution for the crease problem then too.

Dude I’m still bitter about Apple killing 3D Touch. It’s like companies research what I like and when they find it that’s the tipping point for killing a feature/flavor/model/etc.

Canonical had a really interesting idea for a Linux phone back in the day but it never launched. There are some Linux phones trying to make that happen but it’s just not likely to see the widespread adoption needed to fund development.

    We can’t have nice things.
