If I could somehow get over disliking turn-based non-tactics combat I’d give it a shot, but sadly I think that style of gameplay just isn’t for me.

Versa is visually unique though! I wish we’d see some of the online/frontier/other spinoff monsters make their way to wilds

Amatsu is probably my favorite because water elders are just cool. It’s also striking visually.

Yama is another good one because of that terrifying mouth.

I’m not familiar with the last one you mentioned.

If you’re ever interested in playing 1, 1G, Dos, MHFU, or Frontier (all English patched and with optional modern controls) let me know. I’d love to get some hexbears together to hunt in old gen games (skill level doesn’t matter at all for anyone reading).

Excited, but I didn’t like either World or Rise near as much as Freedom Unite, 3 Ultimate, or 4 Ultimate largely because I prefer the slower, more prediction-based approach to combat of the older games versus the more reactive 5th-gen onwards approach.

That said I’ll still probably put 300 hours into wilds, I just really hope we see a remaster release of some of the older games in the near future. If anything I’ve still probably got 1500 hours of Monster Hunter Frontier ahead of me so I’ve got plenty of old-style game left before I run out of my preferred content.

Ratchet and Clank games did some fun stuff with the gyro controls where they had a tornado gun that you could fire and then control it with the controller while using other weapons.

Have you played Demon’s Souls? I played through the original on PS3 and borrowed a friends PS5 to play the remake and I really don’t think you’re missing out on much. The game is a visual treat but I still feel it’s (expectedly) by far the worst of From’s Soulsborne games.
