  • I know that Merveilles is technically a form of social media, but it’s got that nice small town vibe to it, where everyone knows each other, and where everyone’s willing to help out, which most big and mainstream social media platforms don’t have, simply because they’re mega cities in comparison, where things feel a bit more transactional, and everyone’s a stranger, an acquaintance at best.

In terms of big social media, I am doing just fine without it (thank you very much), since I actually know who I am talking to instead of trying to have a conversation at a fairground (also known as a form of sensory hell) or any other chaotic place, with multiple street marketers and entertainers trying to capture my attention and advertise things which I’m not interested in every other second, and trust me, there are at least ten of them, if not more, which does feel overwhelming if you just want to catch up with a small handful of people.

I am doing just fine without mainstream social media because it does my head in and makes me depressed and distracted from what I actually want to do in life, not to mention how performative it all feels.
