I noticed that I typoed ineligible to iligible so that might be the source of confusion but… that’s what I was trying to say.
Regardless of how Trump got into office once he’s served two terms he’s done.

When I was in university I took the department lead of CS and Math folks offline. For some absolutely idiotic reason my university didn’t use DHCP but instead statically distributed IP addresses. In our hacking lab we were setting up a recovered desktop PC and to get it on the network I randomly chose an IP addy (this was IPv4) and it happened to be the address of the department head’s computer.
Since I set this machine up at night when he wasn’t on campus the network recognized my machine at that address and refused the department head’s machine when he came in in the morning.
Oh no - it’s just that voluntary isn’t always a fully free choice. The passage above is a demonstration of a choice being offered that technically allows freedom but strongly encourages one choice. I used it instead of writing up a comment like this because it was more fun.
It would’ve, but I fashioned a protective covering of duct tape first.
What a fucking troll.
It is insane that he wasn’t included in the original list.
No - assuming we’re going by the laws. The method of Trump’s election is irrelevant it only matters how many terms he’s served.
A good example of this is Rutherford B Hayes - it’s unclear if he ever won an election through normal means but the house decided he’d be president so he served a term.
If it’s revealed that Trump never technically won in 2016 (which is highly probable given the close margin and election shenanigans) he’d still be ineligible (by current laws) to serve again.
Of course the Supreme Court is a bunch of asshats so who even know what laws are.
Folding the slice in half.
You’ve got two fucking hands - give that fucker some structural support.
‘May I just add, Mr Lipwig, that behind you there is a door. If at any time in this interview you feel you wish to leave, you have only to step through it and you will never hear from me again.’
Moist filed that under ‘deeply suspicious’.
[…]
Moist looked at him. ‘Excuse me,’ he said, standing up, ‘I’d just like to check something.’
There were two men dressed in black standing behind his chair. It wasn’t a particularly neat black, more the black worn by people who just don’t want little marks to show. They looked like clerks, until you met their eyes. They stood aside as Moist walked towards the door which, as promised, was indeed there. He opened it very carefully. There was nothing beyond, and that included a floor. In the manner of one who is going to try all possibilities, he took the remnant of spoon out of his pocket and let it drop. It was quite a long time before he heard the jingle.
Then he went back and sat in the chair.
‘The prospect of freedom?’ he said.
‘Exactly,’ said Lord Vetinari. ‘There is always a choice.’
‘You mean . . . I could choose certain death?’
‘A choice, nevertheless,’ said Vetinari.

Technically speaking it is illegal for prisoners to be coerced into labor in the US - but it’s often strongly encouraged.
I’d clarify - I don’t wish this program didn’t exist I just think the monetary compensation is an embarrassment. I’d much prefer to see these volunteers more properly compensated to set them up for post incarceration life.
Please send help. I moved up here and there’s so many moose.
It should be an embarrassment that you’re letting people fight the fires threatening your homes and paying them literal peanuts. Other areas do similar shit and should also be embarrassed but that doesn’t lessen the embarrassment that Californians should feel.
People are losing their fucking homes and these folks are fighting to keep them standing while being paid peanuts.
Yall should be fighting to make sure they get fair compensation even if that’s not wholly available to them until after they’ve been released/granted probation.
Gen X is a conspiracy. None of them actually exist.
My Canadian girlfriend (well, now wife) is from Gen X - I swear.
When I’m on vacation I practice cat tourism.
I just look for and photograph stray cat colonies across Europe.
I have a number of dedicated subscribers to my vacation photos - it’s somehow more than those folks with 300 pictures of their family standing in front of X.
My point is - hey look at that squirrel can be incredibly fulfilling.
I can clear that up for you. The X axis is vibes and the Y axis is vibe dependent vibes.
Californians should be fucking embarrassed that they’re exploiting the incarcerated population so fucking thoroughly.
Genuinely, of all the inaugurations to be concerned about a car bomb or other attack - this is the most likely.
US intelligence services are good enough that they’ll intercept a lot of the less careful people weeks before an incident but in this inauguration you’ve got a deeply divisive president who has long been above justice with a laundry list of crimes he’s never faced proper penalties for…
Along with pretty much every billionaire you’ve ever hated in attendance.
The chances of a less discriminate Luigi copycat are extremely high.
The biggest impediment to using lemmy as a less shitty SO/Reddit is that there simply isn’t the volume of answers here. Eventually there may be - and I’d argue that the quality of answer is generally better here - but currently there are a lot of questions that simply haven’t been asked.
The meme about googling site:Reddit comes out of how deeply shitty Google has let their search engine become. In an ideal world you’d just search on Google and get decent quality responses instead of needing to domain bind your results.
Maybe it’d be helpful to try a quality search engine like Kagi?
Danielle Smith cares less about her voting base than her funding base and if the oil stopped flowing her funding base would crucify her.
Though, as a beard haver I’m pretty happy I’m not confused with these asshats due to my appearance.
