It does to me. When I first joined the fediverse i was on kbin where votes were public and it made me think twice if something was truly downvote worthy then I got on fedia.io where downvotes were hidden and I caught myself downvoting more and more comments that I disliked or disagreed with wothout them being inherently “bad” coments. Then here I’ve been trying to be more concious of how I vote but, tbh, is kinda hard to keep my inner redditor under control when I think I can get away with it. A few days ago I learned about the lemvotes thing and that has reminded me of keeping my voting habits under controll, I know i should be mindfull of it regardless but is somewhat easier for me when someone might be watching.

Against. Votes being public makes me vote better. It stops me from angrily downvoting stuff I dont like when im in a bad mood.

I have the wild guess that this was done with trans people in mind.

Also, I dont know how things are where you live, but here in méxico we keep hearing, year after year, how topics and subjects are removed from school plans. Seems like a very obvious effort to “teach less” every year.

Pues considerando como son las noticias extranjeras sobre méxico, no los culpo del todo. Ninguna nota de las que he visto es critica o analitica te la situacion real todas pedaleaban la idea de que la eleccion de juezes es un gran paso democratico. Cuando se trata de su propio pais estan expuestos a noticias mas diversas y al ser algo personal para ellos la gente tiende a ser mas critica.

Por lo que veo, la moyoria de la gente (aqui y en reddit) se tragan todos los choros de progreso “socialista” del pais y no se enteran de que con la otra mano nos estan jodiendo. Habemos muy pocos mexicanos aqui como para hacer contrapeso. Igual y conforme crezca el fedi llegan mas, pero de momento, paciencia. No es como si hubiera una alternativa viable y duradera, todas las demas redes son chingaderas corporativas y centralizadas.
