Fuck trump and all that, but reasonably, going to the site of any incident is just for photo ops. Fuck all the trash that does that. It’s just as stupid as sending reporters out into a hurricane wind so they can say, “The wind is really starting to pick up, Dave-in-the-comfy-news-room-700-miles-away, and we can hear the waves pounding louder now.”
Can you imagine how things would go down if you did get donny on a boat and it capsizes in cold, flowing water?
It’s not like he has to fly across the country. This is literally down the road. Bill Clinton jogged further than that. Just standing on the riverbank would be enough to show people he gave the tiniest shit.
In this instance, we have an incompetent fool full of hatred at the top of the little hill of vile snakes. One incompetent fool who removed (or made leave, same difference in the end) the head of the agency that makes sure horror shows like this don’t happen. That just makes it worse. Let him stay in his little nest and rot.
It’s depressing how, in order to surpass how things are going now, the things I come up with are basically all from some semblance of dystopian horror stories.
I might be okay with a photo op as a part of a larger aid framework. I took a moment to consider my house burning down. And how I might feel if a politician I respected showed up and surveyed the damage and said, “Oh no. It is sad that this house burned down.” The right words from the right person at the right time with reliable follow up could be all right.
To me, the right person is my neighbors, friends, or maybe family. If any politician more removed than the city council wanted to do or say something, I’d rightly think it’s just them posturing. They can shut the fuck up and vote/pass some aid measures.

But he doesn’t.

This is pretty much it. They are numbers and a crisis that he’s tried to twist to benefit from. He cares not.
Better than how things are going down now.

Hmm ya I see what ya mean

In a normal world at least :)
