Interesting. Do all green teas taste the same to you? TO me, they seem to be on a flavor spectrum, and I ironically think my favorite are the most “wet grass” of them.

Nothing like having lactose intolerance and discovering there’s dairy in the tea after you started brewing it. Total waste of time and money.

The USA, where a lot of things have low-quality cow-juice based ingredients by default. Love it here.

I had a roasted rice tea that sounded so unique and interesting! And it was way too unique for me haha. I hear a lot of people like it, and I’m happy for them.
Roasted rice is best used as an additive for other teas, particularly oolong, and anyone who disagrees is entitled to their opinion.
Oh you’re talking about Genmaicha. I really like it on a winter’s day, but my wife hates hates it. I get it. It’s weird.
What kind of roasted rice tea? Genmaicha? Maybe try different brand of it?
I got a bag of genmaicha mint tea as a gift years ago, it was really good! But after opened and sitting in the cupboard for a while it got really bitter. I should’ve drank it faster.
Maybe what they had was just stale?

Maybe try a different one? I drink these semi often but I would say that they are generally considered as basic in flavors. I can’t imagine them being something someone would have any strong feelings about either way.
My daughter’s marshmellow tea is… a special kind of revolting.
Is it marshmallow plant tea, or synthetic marshmallow sweets flavoured tea?
According to the ingredients list it contains: “real” marshmallow, apple bits, candied pineapple, coconut flakes, hazelnut and vanilla.
Also known as “kid’s tea” according to the tea store where I was forced to buy this.
It’s incredibly sweet and smells like the inside of a candy factory that’s been lit on fire :)Tbh, I probably would have loved that as a kid, even if it had lumps of gelatinous sugary goo in it.
As a ‘grown up’ it does sound pretty gross though.
As a Brit, this is an unpopular point of view but I’m not really a fan of most black teas. I have tried many and always find the tannin leaves a bad after taste, and if you add milk it coats your tongue in nasty orange fur.
My only exception to this is weirdly, the occasional mug of strong, milky (rice/oat) Lapsang, but only during cold weather. It’s just so filling and wholesome to sip on. I do need to brush my teeth and scrape my tongue afterwards though as it lingers.
Edit: and that limited edition Liquorice Allsorts Earl Grey by Twinnings. That stuff was unbelievably fucking delicious somehow.

Licorice tea is the worst tea I’ve ever had.
It tasted like a piping hot, flat, off brand root beer.
Then again, I hate licorice. I imagine someone who likes licorice might have a different experience.Ginger turmeric tea. It’s spicy, bitter, and vaguely sour. If you want to consume ginger and turmeric simultaneously, there are literally hundreds of better ways.
Ginger and turmeric works when done latte style with steamed/frothed milk and a lot of honey and black pepper. It really needs the sugar and fat to make it palatable though.

Earl Grey disgusts me, I don’t think I’m into bergamot.
For some reason “ginger green” teas always mess with me. Ginger tea is fine. Green tea is fine. But I’ve bought combinations of them from more than one brand and they always make me feel off. Haven’t tried making my own from green tea I know is good and fresh ginger, might just be mediocre tea bags.
Hibiscus tea is extremely sour and generally horrible for me.
Oh yes, I completely agree with you! And it’s in a large percentage of herbal/fruit mixes so they’re out of the question for me. I wonder how it became so popular, isn’t it sour for everyone else too?
Ive had some disappointing teas. I’m gonna be broad and say anything with stupid additives that aren’t part of a Camellia sinensis plant. Chamomile is like my one exception.
I’ve got some double bergamot earl grey that’s been sitting there for a while…
