On the contrary. He would have felt the pain of the law from day one. Nearly everything about him that was in the news: the way he treated employees, the ways he kicked them out, the neglect in tackling hate speech - anthing of that would have led to serious time in court. At least the last will lead to expensive penalties, that’s why Musk gets warnings and final warnings now. The law requires that he gets warned before he gets fined, and EU fines are hefty.

They would be happy to have him in the EU and the regulatory approach would be much more light touch. Him being an American means that they believe they have free range for the most stringent interpretations and harshest punishments.

No, him being American gave him free range to do all the things he did, because Americans love worshipping rich people since everything can be bought there.

If he lived in the EU, he would probably be in jail by now and had his assets seized for malpractice.

Unless south Africa is also America he is in fact, not American. I don’t even want to start on all the other asinine things you’ve stated.

Elon is an American citizen so it’s perfectly acceptable to call him an American. We shouldn’t gatekeep that with birthright just cause he’s an ass.

I’m an American living in Denmark and have done so for years, I love it here and have no intention of leaving. I’ve heavily considered giving up my citizenship in the US because I have no intention of returning, but I’m not Danish. Sometimes people say “you look Danish!” To me and internally I feel really uncomfortable. I wouldn’t even call myself European, honestly.

However, that’s my opinion, and to be honest musk embraced the American way more than I ever did so he’s probably more American than I am. To each their own.
