While I didn’t use them a lot myself, beginner-friendly alternate loadout guns like the Sawed-Off and Retro Lancer gave some of my friends who don’t usually gel with Gears’ multiplayer a confidence boost that kept them playing Gears 3 so I appreciated them for that reason
My cousin and I grinded Gears 2 Horde mode for like 30 hours in a weekend so we could unlock the golden Retro Lancer skin during the build up to the release of Gears 3. God that was so fun. I loved Gears 3 multi.
One of my friends bought the PC port of Gears 1 just to unlock one of the Chrome starter weapon skins to complete the set. Can’t remember where the other ones came from. And yes, Gears 3 was insanely fun. I somehow had some ludicrous TDM K/D ratio, like 4 or something. Ahh, so much hatemail and accusations of having a modded controller
