That pretty much dispels any doubt that Punk was the aggressor in the situation. He got in Perry’s face, he stopped Perry from walking away, and he threw the first strike.

Still not sure what AEW was trying to accomplish by airing it though.

Yeah I’m glad they showed the footage, no one can say shit now, but why put it on the show, release it in a statement or something.

AEW was supposed to take the good parts of WCW, not the shit parts.

I agree what was the point of airing it, I guess we’ll see if the Bucks v FTR match gets any kinda bump from it but I think they could have done essentially the same angle without actually airing anything.

The trouble is stuff is so polarised between WWE v AEW and Punk Fans vs Punk Haters that I think everybody is just seeing what they want to see in the video.

I think im just going to go back to watching NJPW, but would have been on the AEW / Punk Unhappy side - and to me it just looks like a grown man acting like a baby and a bully instead of doing his job. I suspect there was probably more post-match that will never get aired that might make him look even worse (and vindicate TK’s response) but the whole thing is just dumb and beyond time to move on.

Have yet to watch it or Dynamite (will be shortly) but I’ve already seen tons of people saying the clip has/is being DMCA’d off (non-aew) social media, youtube the like by AEW already lmao.

Yeah that’s why I went with peertube, hopefully it stays off their radar long enough for people to see.

It will. No one knows or cares about peertube enough to go after it anytime soon lol. Same reason I use stream.new for quick clips instead of streamable.

Man’s lucky this was in the UK cause it’s definitely grounds for assault and battery charges.

That doesn’t make it better - the police in the UK are who chooses whether to charge, not the victim.

Now, the Met won’t do anything cos it isn’t worth their time, but it would be absolutely hilarious if they did.

That’s what I meant, it’s 2 American citizens and nobody called the police, it’d be funny but why would they bother?

Can anyone explain to me why people in Reddit claim this gives WWE free stories to use? I don’t watch WWE so I won’t pretend to understand what story they have going on with Punk and Drew.

      A) Reddit.

      B) People are dumb.

      C) Cause they think WWE is gonna lean into this somehow for their own ratings grab.

Really what WWE’ll do is likely make a slight remark on commentary at some point in some unrelated match or interview so a few people online will chuckle at the reference and otherwise ignore it.
