Found this EDC pouch on cheap online Chinese dollarstore site Temu. Anyone use this or something simila? How do you carry your core EDC items “fashionably”? As someone that doesn’t always have pocket space, I ordered and can’t wait to get it!

Here’s where I found it https://share.temu.com/8IilwA6TlnA

Eh, not quite like that. I have a pocket organizer that’s similar, and a passport sling that I use when I can’t carry my phone in my pocket and want room for a few extras.

Can’t say that this particular design would work for me, but I tend to dislike weight from my neck. Cross body that partially hangs from the neck is okay, lighter things are okay, and I can usually cope with something for short spans. But this is something you’d carry all day, and none of the carry options would really work out for me.

Myself, I favor pocket carry for the kind of things pictured there, with a smaller organizer for one pocket. Anything else is in my big bag. The size of this one to accommodate the phone makes it bigger than what I settled on for my pocket organizer.

The benefit of this kind of carry though, comes in when you’re going to have to leave your stuff somewhere temporarily. Like, if you’re in and out of a place that’s restricted, it’s nice to be able to shove this kind of thing in a locker or your dash pocket rather than emptying your pockets every time. I ran into that post COVID at the town offices. I was having to meet with the sheriff a few times a week, and didn’t feel right bypassing the rules just because of the situation. That’s why I got a pocket organizer. I could just pull it and leave the knives in the car along with my kubotan, pocket my keys, and not have to fuck around.

I got over that eventually though lol. When I go there now, I don’t even bother stashing my 45 in the car safe. I just go in the side entrance where the deputies know me and head in.

Actually intend to use the strap as a crossbody carry. This is much more compact than my current crossbody “fanny pack”. I like the idea of having a dedicated slot of each of my things. Might need to add a pen flashlight to my load out

Aside from my phone and wallet, I only carry my keychain. Each goes in a separate pocket.

I do keep two small tools on my keychain:

    • A small, bladeless multitool. Can take on flights. Looks like this particular one is no longer being manufactured, but there are a number of vendors that make a variety of tiny keychain multitools. Just a bit over 1 3/4" long.

    • A tiny folding knife, which IIRC is a Spyderco Bug that I got on sale. Slightly smaller than the multitool. I remove it if flying.

Doesn’t really require much storage space.

Pockets, whatever doesn’t fit in a pocket doesn’t get EDC.

Plus a man purse/satchel for the most days carry.

Front left - Phone (iPhone 13 Mini)

Front right - Knife (Victorinox Cybertool L)

Front right - Slim Wallet (https://amzn.eu/d/2ZMOQfr)

    Back right - keys (https://www.printables.com/model/530841-airtag-key-organizer-m3-attachment-loop)

keys and knife are both attached to a belt chain

    Victorinox, Gürtelanhänger Multiclip Metall https://amzn.eu/d/7fN70K7

I tried multiple EDC Pouches. One very similar to the one you ordered. And I don’t like any quite much. I do have one with some tools to enhance my carry, but it normally sits in my car or my backpack depending on the carry of the day.

I use an Arc Co. - Bolder

I carry a few different cards on the inside card holder, a few bandaids of various sizes in the mini inside pocket. Then in the back card slot I keep my main credit card, and a couple ‘rewards’ cards for places I frequently go for lunch.

Then the front right pocket has a Swiss army knife (hiker) that I modified the small blade on (into a warncliff blade shape for wood carving), and the left pocket has a mini-Sharpie, and a space pen.

I just carry it in my front right pocket, it’s super compact, and has so much in it that I use everyday.

I’ve carried it everyday for over a year, and it’s still like new, incredibly well made.

I have a small pouch, just one compartment, that fits in my back pocket. I keep any relevant cards (ID, credit cards, etc) in there as well as the things I like to have on a daily basis like my earplugs (because noise sensitivity is a fucker), mini multi tool, lighter, my meds, fidgets, and whatnot.

On days when I have more stuff I want to bring, I have a Lunchbox backpack that’s actually a really great size for day to day stuff but isn’t a massive backpack

Ok but for real that’s a pocket with extra steps. I choose what I wear based on what I need my clothes to do. If you have a pile of crap to lug around, the easy solution is to wear clothes that accommodates your crap. What possible utility would this provide that you don’t get from some decent pants?

And here I was thinking I’d like a non-camo version. I have a large phone (I’d carry a tablet-size phone if I could) and a lot of my clothes have shallow pockets. I consistently lose my phone in that black hole between the driver’s seat and center console. A lanyard case might be good enough.

I don’t understand the hate. Do whatever works for you. People are childish. Seriously half a step away from using homophobic slurs.

Don’t worry about them, I think it’d be very useful (again, limited pocket space), and would look good with strap as a side carry.

Isn’t the concept of EDC at its most barebones just “here are the things I keep with me every day?”

      I don’t see how that’s cringe.

That’s how it started but now people go out of their way to have the most mall ninja edc setup, trying to one up each other with weirdo items and obsess over knives and all sorts of things. A lot of the posts you see on reddit you need like 5 pockets to old all the shit because they are so try hard that’s when it crossed over to cringe. Even this post here like you need a little man purse to hold your edc because it’s gotten so vast.

I’m a woman, but I resent this. Men should be able to carry bags if they so choose and I demand pockets because I hate carrying purses. This does not strike me as neck beardy even remotely.

I disagree. I put an organiser like this inside my nornal backpack so all the little bits don’t become a soup of unfindable things.

Stuff like ibuprofen, plasters, hand sanitiser, a pen etc.

I know what you mean about the mall ninja stuff though.

I have this pouch just branded with olight though, use it to keep my multitool and bits, pen, knife and change in the glove box of my truck.

I use a small pouch from recycled firefighter. I quite like it. I don’t keep my phone in it though, just flashlight, knife, pen and AirTag.
