That should fix the problem. See normally I spend money on fuel because of ads and just burn it on my front yard for no reason but because the ads are gone I will only use the minimum amount moving forward. Good job UN

It will at least curtail some of greenwashing they do to keep their stock price up. Also in the case of cigarettes it helped reduce cigarette usage even though people already have their preferred brand generally use.

How? Tell me how I am supposed to buy less fossil fuels? I am honestly in my heart of heart curious.

I only drive my car when no other options are available, I keep it maintained, and it’s a boring economy car. No ad is going to make me consume less of these fuels or more of these fuels. Smoking is radically different and not at all comparable. Smoking is the end, you get the nicotine hit. Gas is not the end, gas is what lets you achieve your ends.

I had a conversation like this with one of my part suppliers at work. I am not buying machine parts for fun I am buying them because I have a customer order that I need the part to go in. All the sales tactics in the world won’t influence how much I buy.

As for the green washing sure I guess it makes us feel good that we won’t let them do it. And we all know feeling like we are doing something is as good as doing something, maybe better.

You have a point, but at the same time, in the UK at least when visiting my parents and watching their conventional TV recently, there were ads for Shell. Not advertising any particular product, mind, but they’re not paying for advertising just for funsies either, I imagine.
