After several subreddits were banned (namely gamergate, the donald, and incel/MRA groups), they fled to 4chan. It was noticeable, too. Like the place where people openly use slurs saw a shift in how it was used for the worse. Incels used to stay in places like /b/ and /pol/. Now they’ve taken over /r9k/ and /lgbtq/.
