The latest attempt to bring down the minority Liberal government has stalled after the Conservatives blocked their own non-confidence motion from going ahead.

On Friday, the Tories released the text of a motion they planned to bring to the House of Commons today. The motion quotes NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh’s criticism of the Liberals in a bid to get his caucus to vote against the government.

But members of Parliament need to provide unanimous consent for the opposition motion to proceed in order to pause debate on a matter of privilege that has held up almost all other business in the House for two months.

the Cons have essentially stopped the HoC from functioning for over 2 months.

Yet far too many people seem to think voting for the cons would be better than any of the other options.

I fear for the outcome of the next election.

The Conservatives are really stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Do they stop holding up the House of Commons to ensure nothing can get done before the election to maintain their talking points or do they “take down the corrupt Liberal Government at the first opportunity” like was promised ad nauseam for the sake of all Canadians?

Kind of funny how the Conservatives are now “propping up” the “corrupted Trudeau Government” with their actions.

Will this Conservative-Liberal Coalition ever end?
