Summary

Aix Marseille University in France has invited American scientists affected by Trump administration policies to continue their research there.

Over 40 scientists from NASA, Yale, Stanford, and other institutions have expressed interest. The university’s “Safe Place for Science” program will initially fund 15 researchers with €15 million and provide support for relocation.

Scientists fear losing funding due to executive orders restricting research on climate, gender, and equity.

French officials aim to expand the program across Europe as concern over U.S. science policies grows.

I hope canada capitalizes on this too, I’ve seen a huge brain drain over the years as the states just pays so much more and has a lot more opportunity. I hope that reverses.

With the way they’re killing the real economy and giant corps have been focused on stock buybacks instead of investing in their company and workers, it’s almost assuredly going to happen now. People fear Nazi retribution more than they like high pay, and high pay in a quickly inflating currency that will likely lose status as the world reserve currency won’t mean much. Nobody wants to be paid in bitcoin, either.
