A mother and father in England were arrested over “reports of harassment and malicious communications” made in a WhatsApp group about their daughter’s primary school, according to The Times.Footage sent to Storyful by Times Radio producer Maxie Allen shows police at his home in Borehamwood on January 29. The footage shows officers leading Allen away from the house.“Following reports of harassment and malicious communications, which are criminal offences, a man and a woman from Borehamwood, both aged in their 40s, were arrested on Wednesday 29 January, police told local news.According to The Times, the Cowley Hill Primary School said it had “sought advice from police” after a “high volume of direct correspondence and public social media posts” that they claimed had become upsetting for staff, parents, and governors.Allen and his partner Rosalind Levine said they were questioned by police over what were described as “disparaging” comments made in a WhatsApp group, the report said. There was a “breakdown in relationships between a school and parents that shouldn’t have become a police matter,” the Hertfordshire Police & Crime Commissioner said. Schools have a board of governors overseeing them.

A community dedicated to documenting, discussing and critiquing government overreach from the UK Government in terms of censorship, freedom of speech and right to privacy and private communication.

Rules (literally 1984, I know)

  • Not dedicated to one idea or the other. Censorship in general should be called out.
  • Keep it on topic. Don’t turn this into a discussion space dedicated to the ideas or things that the British Government may be censoring (Except for commentary in the comment sections, provided it’s civil - we don’t want people falling out here)
  • Parody posts are allowed (like the Boris Johnson clubcard points meme or links to relevant Tom Scott videos) as long as they don’t get too much
  • Posts must be generally based around the UK and actions of the UK government. Articles about propositions by opposition parties and such are also fine. This community isn’t set up to critcise on one specific political party
  • Article titles mustn’t be changed too much unless necessary to add context. When doing so, use brackets, except for when expanding abbreviations
  • Try not to get arrested
  • We are not responsible for loss of clubcard points
