      They often mention that someone is too injured to transport safely in those occasions.

        What, did the Hippocrates Compensator break? Are you going to bleed out in the pattern buffer? It’s impossible to scan an electron if it has a boo-boo. Lifting them bodily on to a stretcher can’t be better than beaming them directly into a bed.

        Aside from all that, though, I would love an explanation from someone who’s read the technical details invented by the showriters about why injuries impact transporter effectiveness. I genuinely want to know the in-universe explanation.

          Probably because site to site transport is more volatile than directly to the transporters. That was a major thing in the earlier episodes as well. They almost never beamed site-to-site.
