For my Mongoose 2E campaign, I made my own custom GM screen, with only the stuff I found myself needing on a regular basis. It’s 3 landscape pages, designed to be put in a customizable GM screen.

You can download a PDF copy, and the original Affinity files I created it with, here: https://polyhedralnonsense.com/2025/10/09/a-custom-gm-screen-for-traveller/

As far as I know, docking is generally just a simple Pilot roll.

If you’re interested at getting a feel for the current version of Traveller, I’d recommend their Explorer version - only $1.00 on DriveThru: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/380244/traveller-explorer-s-edition

You can also try look at the free release of the old 1981 version: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/355200/classic-traveller-facsimile-edition

Yet another option (pay what you want) is the Cepheus Engine SRD:

How do those compare? It’s just some license hell or a different approach?

Haven’t delved too deep trying to find differences. From what I can tell, Cepheus Engine is pretty much the Traveller SRD.

According to this blog, CE also took bits from other SRDs: http://theotherside.timsbrannan.com/2022/05/review-traveller-and-cepheus-srds.html?m=1

Mongoose was an OGL approach, hence the SRD. However with all the fuckery regarding OGL they switched to a different approach and now have two affiliate programs that allow anyone to publish their own supporting content.

      Sorry, should have written “landing”

Thanks, I have a few of the versions, they just wait for me to have the capacity to ingest at least one. After running Shadowrun, I don’t trust a quick skim to provide insight. Things can look cool in the rules and turn out to be a torture at the table

There was some blog post that explained why debt shouldn’t be waved off in a Traveller campaign that made me really curious. I’m just afraid it’ll be another “let’s sum all the gun modifications on the ship to know which kind of damage we can deal” kind of game

If you’re not averse to videos, Seth Skorkowsky has the gold standard for rule overviews:

First video is a very nice introduction and “what to expect” kind of thing.
