      In this case, sure. In general, the offending company is every company and the product is every robot vacuum not running Valetudo third-party firmware.

    the data collection is all but expected these days… what should be the headline is the remote kill switch the manufacturer used on the guy’s device… repeatedly.

      If the Privacy Policy is anything besides “Absolutely NO tracking” I’m cautious. If it requires an always on internet connection, it’s not for me unless it’s a router that supports custom firmware.

        Even if they say no tracking, but collect data, I’m still always suspicious. Even of they don’t track, a data breach can ruin my day.

          I consider tracking as collecting user data, not a geo-location function.
