I am from America and I’m doing a project on rebranding the Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden. I was wondering if people from Sweden resonate with the flag in logos. I presented to my class and some people recommended asking people from Sweden for their opinions on using the flag in logos because we can’t fully understand a different culture without talking to people who are actually from there.

If you’re going to use the flag then make sure it has the right proportions (5:8), otherwise it’s guaranteed to look weird.

I also find the overlapping transparency odd, but that’s just personal preference.

Overall it feels like the flag is doing too much of the heavy lifting and there’s not much aviation/airport meaning in the logo at all. The swoosh makes me think more of cruise ships (like Birka Cruises) than it makes me think about air travel.

And compare it with the current Arlanda Airport logo (which is just the Swedavia logo). It’s a pretty excellent logo imo since it indicates the northern location(s) with a snowflake design but the snowflake also looks like an airport from above.
