Carriacou has been hit had by a historically early and abnormally strong catagory 4 hurricane. Older resident says it happens about once every 20 years they get a strong one and it’s been 24 years since the last major to hit the island. Also they normally come in twos.
Multiple people “worse than Ivan” which was a cat 5 storm - in September 2004. Reports Beryl had guts of up to 185 mph.

If you look at the lower belt of the carribiean to Africa it is a tropical depression conveyor belt right now.
