I think it’s more like AA meetings for masturbation. Porn addiction is definitely a thing and some people are helped by going cold turkey and being in a community that talks about it - but then for some people the masturbation was just a symptom and not the real problem and that’s where you get all the weird and sometimes fashy outgrowths from it.
