It is honestly a bit refreshing, it seems like some of a veil was lifted and Trump derangement syndrome died between some couch cushions. They’re really silly weirdos and what made them a threat was treating them like one, about 8 years late on a pretty obvious realization. But here we are. Of course I also don’t think it’ll last.

It’s a bit of a reversion. They were treated as silly weirdos before gamergate when the far right really got its claws in. They should be shoved back in that locker but libs thought reasoning and debating with them was a viable path first which only strengthened them.

The thing is, they’ll have to keep doing it. Even if another Jan 6th happens or whatever. And libs not being hysterical isn’t something I’d ever bet on. The cat has been out of the bag for too long to just put back, it had lots and lots of weird little kittens too and they’re in the engine blocks, the gutters, the trash cans and the bushed just waiting for the right person to follow home. We kept nazism out of the mainstream for a good while after ww2 and a mere 20 years later they had pow camp sitcoms. It’s been a pretty common refrain to never tske these creeps too seriously because thst gives them power. Mock em from a distance and bash em up close, keep the maggots down in the dirt cause when they get out of the dirt and into your trash bin, they get fat and grow up into a swarm of flies. So they’re both flies and kittens is what I’m saying cause I am clumsily using 2 animal metaphors for the same thing and keeping it.
