Hasan attended the DNC as a news reporter, not as a supporter of the Democratic Party. Left leaning news outlets such as Democracy Now (Amy Goodman) and Drop Site News (Ryan Grim and Jeremy Scahill) were also at the DNC. Even right wing outlets like Fox News and Newsmax were at the DNC. Even cranks like Charlie Kirk and Mike Lindell were allowed into the DNC.

Hasan also interviewed the representatives of the Uncommitted Movement outside of the DNC on the same day as being kicked out and marched with the Pro-Palestinian protests 2 days before.

He was critical of Kamala the entire 3 days that he was at the DNC. There were many people who asked him if he would support Kamala and he told them that he was waiting for her to show a change in the US policy towards Israel/Gaza before he was willing to show any support for her campaign. I think he might have told people to support Kamala if she had stopped weapon shipments to Israel and forced Israel to do an actual ceasefire. He also has said that he wanted her to have a different border policy than Biden. Kamala’s border policy is very bad.

Hasan was being interviewed by a journalist from the New York Times when he was kicked out. The DNC had given him a private room to stream. Around this same time, Hasan tweeted that the DNC was doing hasbara. Some person walked in and said they were revoking his access to the room and they did not offer him any other similar space to stream. He canceled the interview with Shawn Fain of the UAW and went back to his hotel room.

At his hotel room, after being kicked out from the DNC, he reacted to Kamala’s speech and said that he now believes there is no chance Kamala will change her policy towards Israel/Gaza. A few reasons cited were that the DNC did not allow any Palestinians to speak, Kamala said she wanted America to have the most lethal military in the world in her speech, and because they kicked him out for criticizing Israel.

Here’s the transcript. (Edit for clarity: link is an archive of NYT’s transcript of the speech, not Hasan talking about it.)

As vice president, I have confronted threats to our security, negotiated with foreign leaders, strengthened our alliances and engaged with our brave troops overseas. As commander in chief, I will ensure America always has the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world.

He obviously said a lot more stuff during this period. He was arguing against Kamala supporters in his chat and saying that Democrats move further right ever political cycle. He also said some stuff like that America is in a state of collapse. I was going to type it out but then I realized that you could just go watch it for yourself.

He has also been covering Gaza every day since October 7 and even many years before. I watched his coverage of Palestine during the Trump presidency.

Your other comment in the thread you say that you would do things better and in this comment you posture that you have better analysis. Why are you inserting yourself into the situation? Why are you making this about yourself? That’s so narcissistic.

to be honest with you, i truly believe that it must be absolutely synonymous to every single person beyond a reasonable doubt that harris will support the genocide as president before people will begin their work beyond bourgeois electoral politics.

And yet they let Charlie Kirk and Matt Walsh walk around openly. Which really shows you who they consider their real enemies.

Well one of the biggest disgruntlements dissenting Democrats have with Kamala Harris is her support of Israel. That wasn’t something Charlie Kirk and Matt Walsh talked about much, but Hasanabi being a progressive cares about it greatly and discussed the topic at length during his DNC broadcasts.

These conventions exist primarily to amp up the nominee’s base. Charlie Kirk and Matt Walsh being there doesn’t do that; if anything, it stirs up Democrats to come together and make fun of them while they’re there. Hasanabi being there, on the other hand, probably reignites lingering doubts held in the minds of people sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.

Yes, just like Beaver said, it shows you that the enemies of the Democrats are not the Republicans, their supporters, or right-wing ideologues in general. The enemies of Democrats are anyone who is sincerely progressive and anyone who cares about the victims of genocide.

reignites lingering doubts held in the minds of people sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.

Reignite lingering doubts?? Anyone sympathetic to the Palestinian cause should be screaming from the rooftops that these people are committing heinous atrocities, literal genocide. They shouldn’t be doubted, they should be [redacted].

I didn’t watch this stream not because “I have a life” or whatever but just find the DNC shit stale after 4 days. Would’ve liked to see his interviews with AOC, Fain, and Omar, but, alas…

Anyway, I did watch a bit after this and his “handler” kept saying she didn’t know what happened. Then she said it was a secret service related clear out. Other creators there said they had been cleared out too from that like “social media influencer” area.

I didn’t watch the latter part of the stream once he left because I honestly don’t really care what Kamala has to say at this point. I doubt he heard much more concrete on what happened or what the reason for the sweep was, but knowing the cucked dems and generally our cucked… everything… it could’ve been literally anything from Obama walking down the hallway to some snitch zoomer sending clips to a staffer who had actual power and just said “shut it all down, boys!”

He’s been saying the same shit for 4 days though. He literally interviewed Ro Khanna and said Israel is doing a genocide. If they didn’t kick him for that, it doesn’t really make sense to then let him stay for another two days then kick him with like only two hours left before he was leaving anyway.

I dunno, parasocially and stuff, it felt like 1) every single chatter in there is a moron (someone said fight back lmao) 2) he was just pissed off, understandably, at the total unprofessionalism of the DNC staffers and security towards people they don’t view as important and 3) he’s justifiably paranoid about being attacked or “censored” (but for real, not the way hogs mean it) by the DNC or security for his speech. But, I dunno, why let a dude inside to begin with who has been correctly ass-ripping Biden for 10 months nonstop, let him continue to rip asses for 3.5 days, then boot him in his final hours? You just never let him in if your goal is silencing him. Like Brace and Liz aren’t allowed in (lol). It’s not like his opinions were a secret until minutes before he was kicked. That combined with the secret service and other security having done this before to him I just think he was being disrespected, not necessarily “silenced.” I can believe them being totally incompetent assholes. The easiest answer usually being the right answer and all that.

to be fair, that exact tweet does go a step beyond in that he specifically compares the DNC lying to media to keep heat off of kamala to israeli hasbara. ( in refererence to uncommitted delegates. DNC lied to make it sound like the uncommitted delegates were the ones who didn’t want that palestinian american to speak, not the truth that the DNC was never going to allow it). Directly calling out their fuckery, and using the word hasbara in the process, probably got some aipac hogs screeching about antisemitism, and definitely was a deep jab at the DNC.

But its also entirely possible that there was an issue with the SS/fire marshal wanting to clear some people out. Certainly the twitch streamer who you’ve given a sizable booth to and is critical of you is an obvious person to kick out if its just numbers.

I care less about the dude and more about if this represents a trend of the DNC disposing of their “hip, cool, gets the young people voting” influencers to keep the party line on the Palestinian genocide nice and clear.

I hope they’re doing that, it seems like they’re doing that. I hope they take every single disadvantage they can get, I hope there’s nightmarishly racist and dytopian DNC-type footage every single day. I desperately need these smug nazi fucks to lose this, not just for my own sense of comeuppance (which would take far more than an election loss at this point to satisfy) but for the strongest advancement of socialist positions.

Man I don’t really want to get up to speed on this but hasan seems like such a goddamn narcissist and fraud. He could use his influence, wealth, etc to run some real interference but what do we get, some tweets and comments of luke warm support?

Also it really pisses me off how often this guy talks about how much money he raised for Palestine or other charities, but it’s never his money. Can’t challenge his millionaire content creator model tho, look at all the charity HE did. In fact you should be like him and run the resistance from twitter, and if you do go out be very passive and politely leave when they ask you to.

have you seen yugopnik idea of the funnel into leftist rhetoric?

i think this guy’s target audience is the libs tbh, trying to not scare the libs off while leading them to radical rheotoric - it works, alot of people at the pro pal protests know who hasanabi is, and i know that the brasil communist party are doing something similar to hasanabi streaming to polarise the youth

This take is so corny. He’s donated his own money to a lot of causes. But even if he didn’t who cares. Charity from a lib to left pipeline newshead doesn’t matter. Like at all. Getting thousands of people to support Palestine with their own money actually matters
