What muddies all of this is the perception many have that everyone saying thinks like, “The only good Nazi is a dead Nazi” is calling anyone who disagrees with them a Nazi. And actually that is sometimes the case, but rarely. I have seen people say anyone who voted for Trump should be exterminated, but very few. If it was more clear that they were only talking about actual Nazis and not a third of the population who live in a different information bubble, the message would probably be better teceived. What is missing in all of these interactions is subtlety.
