    I’m watching the draw live and wish they’d get on with the actual draw part.

    When I saw them announce it I laughed my ass off since I knew immediately Trump was getting it. God I hate FIFA.

      I don’t know anything about FIFA other than it’s the international soccer org and it’s highly corrupt. I only learned about the prize about 5 minutes ago. There was a video clip but part of my brain still said “This shit can’t be real. A peace prize?”

        Yeah when I was scanning articles of it as it happened, seems like they announced the award was created a few days ago.

        I expected some pageantry and glazing of Trump but tbh, didn’t expect this. Taken like 55 minutes and we’re finally at the real draw.

          I wonder what other sports-based awards Trump will win. I guess all other sports orgs with significant business in the US are trying to figure out what’s worse: giving Trump an award or not giving him an award. I assume most sports orgs are dirty due to the insane amounts of money floating around. If - for example - Trump expects an “Best Honorary Player” award from the NFL - he could announce the FBI is about to investigate the league for “problems - many, many problems maybe crime”. And that could be bad. Very, very bad.

            Yeah we’ll have to see, FIFA seems especially keen on doing anything for more cash. I could definitely see other sports governing bodies taking notes on how this goes.
