At least they put it in scare quotes and the very first paragraph points out it is a euphemism for ethnic cleansing. In this particular instance it’s more on the zionists for adopting the term than this media outlet for not criticizing it and calling it like it is. If this were e.g. the U.S. mainstream media, they’d almost certainly be tripping over themselves to be complicit with, or even double down on, the apologetic propaganda.

It looks like it’s from thecradle.co, a “news” site that came online in mid-2021. I’m putting “news” in quotes because most reputable news organizations don’t host their sites on GoDaddy.com, don’t hide their ownership or physical location, and don’t have an open invitation on their front page to “become an author”.

I’m not saying that this story isn’t true, just that this site shares some characteristics with some less reputable “news” sites.

Ah Ad hominem to try and defend the settler occupation.

Maybe if instead of wasting 15 seconds looking up domain registration records, you opened the article, you could see they linked receipts from some precious existing reputable, Israeli journalistic outlets. Oh or maybe conveniently those won’t be reputable either. Maybe the only sources someone desperate to defend a genocidal fascist ethnostate built on stolen land and which has a massive misinformation operation that includes paid posters are those that defend that same state hmmm? Unfalsifiable orthodoxy.

Which is ironic, because that plan was barely considered and the high command essentially laughed at it before unanimously deciding to simply exterminate the “subhumans”.

I wonder if Israel will follow their logic.

It gives the zionist libs plausible deniability, they get to pretend that this is a “humane” ethnic cleansing. It’s to soothe their own supporters, not to convince people to their side.

If you meant Israeli libs, they’re most likely in the same camp of seeing all Gazans as Hamas, if you meant nonIsraeli Zionist libs, yeah that would track. There were some leftist Israelis on one of Hasan’s videos talking about Israeli libs turning bloodthirsty after October 7th. The line between conservatives and libs is a lot harder to find in Israel.

I was thinking more western or anglo zionist libs specifically. I do feel like the Israeli libs are just all in on this being an “us or them” genocide that this point.

The only difference between a conservative and a lib is just how much they personally feel they’ve been scratched at this point, so they’re only a few minor inconveniences away from each other really.

Yes I do. Very well. Explain to me how it does not meet the criteria that qualifies it as a genocide, aka a systematic killing of a culture.

It would be extremely difficult for you to do that because what’s being done is fucking genocide, shit head.

              Educate yourself.

The history of forced/coerced emigration sure isn’t a pretty one.

I’m certain you don’t give a shit about a good faith argument but I’ve got one anyway. Moving so many people to another country is absurd. There wouldn’t be remotely adequate infrastructure ready to support them. It would be an immediate humanitarian disaster. It wouldn’t be surprising when a great deal of people wouldn’t be interested in leaving their ancestral home to become a refugee.

Removing an entire ethnicity (or in this case, every ethnicity but one) from a country is genocidal because it’s never been done without a huge amount of death, whether they are gunned down or forced to relocate.

This strategy will likely be used to justify the continued slaughter of Gazans by the flimsy logic that “they could have just left.”

              Gladly. Per Wikipedia,

Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people in whole or in part.

In 1948, the United Nations Genocide Convention defined genocide as any of five “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group”. These five acts were: killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group, preventing births, and forcibly transferring children out of the group. Victims are targeted because of their real or perceived membership of a group, not randomly.

              Oops.
